Holiday Ornaments in Polymer Clay

Every year I like to make a little something for friends and family.  Last year I made wine toppers!

This year I was on a mission to make some ornaments.  Not only for gifts, but I wanted to put some in the galleries I am in.

I am so thrilled with how they turned out.  Honestly, these are ornaments I'd hang in my window to keep all year long (and yes, I did keep a couple for myself!!)

I used polymer clay, wire, wooly wire for color pop accents, and gemstones, art beads and such to create them.  It was REALLY fun!
Here is a peek at some of them, but for a full gallery, visit my Facebook page (message me if you are interested in any)
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.915737905163117.1073741878.214196618650586&type=3

I am going to list them on Facebook in an event this afternoon for anyone who is interested.  They are decorated on both sides, measure about 2" x 6.5" (each is a little different).

Here is a close up of a few with their backs shown.  They all have crackle on them and a matte finish which I love!!

If you want to learn to paint polymer like these are, with the crackle finish, you can purchase my tutorial here

Happy HOlidays!  I hope everyone is having a chance to create some handmade happy to spread with loved ones this year!!!

New Work and a Holiday Sale

I try to do a sale each year........I don't do them often.  However, its a way for me to thank everyone for their support.  So this year, I am giving 25% off your total order from my shop, by using code "thankful" at checkout.  Sale runs from Thanksgiving day until December 2nd.

I will be filling the shop with LOTS of new goodies tomorrow.  It will hopefully be the most full my online shop has ever been!!! Earrings, bracelets, beads and necklaces.  I even made some new styles.  They are a tad simpler, and in a lower price range.  Great for gifts.

I know I certainly have friends and relatives who love my style of jewelry but are intimidated by the larger pieces- these are perfect for them!  They are more average sized, yet still have flair, cool stones and fossil and are unique.  They will make great gifts.

I also got these Zen Beads strung into some simple necklaces on leather.  I wanted those intricately carved beads to be the stars of the show!

Now, even though I am listing tomorrow, I cannot hold items until the sale starts.  It is first come first serve.  Early orders will not get the sale price refunded.  Coupon code goes active midnight on Wednesday.

In other news, I have also been messing around with some other "art".  I made some polymer mixed media pieces that have been running around my mind for some time now.  It felt REALLY good.

This is the direction I plan to explore next, and take a bit further, these organic fossil like pieces.

I LOVED how these turned out, though I had not even sketched them. They just happened spontaneously
Tree of Life
(these all sold already, but I plan to make more)

My full moon and swirling sky piece's were the first I sketched.  I have one hanging in my home already.  These were my favorites!

Art has always been my passion, and though I get to be very creative making jewelry, I always long to be painting or sculpting or doing something else as well.  I was really happy with how these turned out and plan to make more.  They are for sale, but not in the shop, nor are they part of the 25% off sale.  You can see which are still available on my facebook page here

and if you are interested in one, you can message me.

So that is all.  I hope you can stop by the sale- and enjoy your Thanksgiving.  May it contain laughter and love and good food!

Fall Designs: Inspired by the Sea and Nature

I had a really great time designing pieces for my last show of the year, and for the Bethlehem House Gallery, which is having its winter show, and I am honored to be the jewelry portion of it!

The gallery show opens this Friday in Bethlehem, so come on out!  Openings are a great time to have a drink and snack, get the first peek at the new work and meet the artists.

Here are some of my favorite new pieces I made.

These, were heavily inspired by the sea, and my love of beach combing.  You can read all about my fall beach adventures here, and there is also a sea glass wrapping tutorial.  (we found a TON of really cool bones and sea glass while beach combing)
(this is just a portion of it all)

These pieces are made using sea glass, fossils and some have my polymer focals.  I really enjoy making pieces that resemble my pile of goodies from the beach, but with better composition and wear- ability!

I also made my stone like pieces, some of my favorite traditional wire wrapped chokers.....my classic style as I call it

You know I could NOT do a show so close to Halloween and Dia de los Muertos without making some Sugar Skull pieces

And then there were the other pieces, many fall inspired, some just my new wire bar choker style, that I use to dress up a focal bead or pendant.

and last but not least, I made new bracelets, which I adore!!!!  I kept one for myself and have been wearing it non-stop.  They are very very comfortable!

Whew!  That was a lot of eye candy!  Anyhow, I am done making jewelry for a little bit.  I need to do my class proposals this week.  Then I do plan to spend a week making rings and earrings for the gallery and for the holidays.  busy busy busy!

If you are interested in any of these pieces, they are all pictured in my photo's on my facebook page.  Just comment on the photo AND send me a message through my business page, and I will let you know the price and if its available.

You can always find my beads and jewelry here on my website as well (just not all jewelry is listed)
