Bead Table Wednesday~ M.I.A.

"Where's Mom?"  "What's for dinner?"  "Honey, are you coming to bed tonight, or any night this week?"  "I'm outta socks Mom!"  "Where am I supposed to sit? there is clean wash all over the sofa!"

*sigh*

I hear these things, I do.  They are in the background and I am trying to drown them out by blasting music in my studio (Oh how I love music).  But, I hear them, and I feel guilty.  It's the week before my biggest show of the year, the Bead Soup Blog Party, and I am a week behind due to illness.  I'm a bad mom.  I am a mad scientist of jewelry.  I have more ideas then time, more things to stock then my hands can make, and my house is in shambles.................yet, when I have that torch in my hand................I am happy.

I think my family understands.  It only gets this bad the week before a show...............and I only do 5 or 6 a year!  I can do it, I can balance it all, I can make things and feed little people and take pictures of their first day of pre-K!  (my littlest is a big boy now, pre-K....momma's a bit sad about that one).

And, when I can't do it all, my mom comes over and folds wash for me, and my hubby goes to meet the teacher night ILO me.  I guess I need help, I can't do it all, and thats ok.  I love my family, and their support of me and my art.  Wanna see what the mad scientist created the last two days?????  This is whats on my Bead Table this Wednesday!

RINGS! I love making silver rings, but with silver prices, I thought I'd make a line of bronze rings with silver ring shanks....still nice high end jewelry, but more affordable. Plus they match more of my mixed media work theses day. This plan, did not go accordingly. It is really hard to solder a thick piece of bronze, to a silver wire shank with a butane torch. Please note the ratio of silver rings to bronze. I spent more time on the bronze then the silver. That will give you an idea of how hard it was to make it work. So, I had to abandon it, with so much other stuff to complete before the weekend.

before patina

one of the many that didn't make it

completed!!!

Love this one

my favorites of the bunch

Crazy Momma Artist, put down the torch and step away from the soldering brick.  You have jewelry to assemble and price!!!!

Ok.  I am refocused.  My wash is folded.  Rings are made.  Next................................

Earrings and leather cuffs!  What's on your bead table?
